Issue

The standard does not explicitly state the obvious requirement that a server presents services at exactly one revision of the standard, therefore all ldNs must inherit from the same namespaces.

Perhaps it could be argued to make the distinction at the server, but IED seems more reasonable.

Proposal

Change first bullet in the list from

"whole logical device"

to

"whole physical device"

Discussion (red) 7-2 Editors:

In a 80-6 gateway environment, a IEC 61850-7-2:GenServer is using a single basic name space for its own LDevice resp. Objects as well as for the proxies LDevices resp. proxied objects.

All Logical Devices of a IEC 61850-7-2:GenServer will implement the same basic namespace.

Proposal: change second bullet (basic name space - LLN0.lnNS) in the list from "whole logical device" to "whole IEC 61850-7-2:GenServer instance"

Discussion (red) Proxy case needs further consideration. 11 Jul 23
Verify Draft Implementation Editor discussion 2021-Mar-16 was "whole server" but final proposal is "whole physical device". Why does the 2023-Feb-28 proposal differ from the consensus of the 7-2 editors?
I suggest change "whole logical device" to "whole server"

to

"whole physical device"

Discussion (red) move to discussion 01 Feb 22
Accepted 7-2 Editors:

All (non-proxied) Logical Devices of a server will implement the same basic namespace.

In a physical device containing multiple servers, individual servers may (when necessary) implement different basic namespaces.

Proposal: change first bullet in the list from "whole logical device" to "whole server"
