Clause: 6.3.2 LN: Physical device LN Name: LPHD

Paragraph: Table 44 – Data objects of LPHD

Issue

Several devices include redundant power supplies. Each power supply can indicate a problem with a signal, but the LPHD only shows one data object called PwrSupAlm.

We consider that this data object should accept multiple instances, in order to avoid unnecessary LPHD data object extensions.

Proposal

Please change condition of PwrSupAlm in LPHD from optional "O" to "Omulti".

The issue has no interoperability status. So I would propose it to chanage to future improvement. 08 Sep 22 Approval (Future Improvement)
TF 90-29 (about Modelling of Physical resources) has started the discussion of model of power supply. 08 Sep 22 Discussion (red)
Consider that there three DO in LPHD that are related to the supervision on power supply.
LPHD.NumPwrUp
LPHD.PwrUp
LPHD.PwrDn
LPHD.PwrSupAlm
The semantic of all three DO is unclear: when DO PwrUp and PwrDn are true with what timestamp? Does PwrSupAlm detect just internal supply board alarms?
This should be described in future IEC 61850-7-5.

For backwards compatibility it would be better to leave PwrSupAlm as the *OR* of all alarms and add (optional) individual alarms for each supply.
Perhaps PwrSupSt[N] true would be failure of individual supply

Accepted that it needs discussion and clarification 09 Nov 21 Accepted
