Within SCL the AccessPoint element of an IED has the attributes clock and router to model time synch master clocks and the router function. If an IED is only a router, then just its access point is modelled with the attribute router=true. Observe however that pure routers do NOT talk 61850 and therefore are seldom modeled. If they talk SNMP or another IP based protocol, then edition 2 allows to model them in a SubNetwork with protocol type 'IP'. 07 May 08 Not Applicable
