Category: Issue for edition 2 of this part

Issue

LD names must be unambiguous in a system (see IEC 61850-7-2). That means: There can only be one proxy in a system, because there is one LD name for the proxy: LD0.

Proposal

Allow instances of LD0 by adding an instance number to the LD0 name: e.g., LD01, LD02, ...

The LD scope needs to be refined in IEC 61850-7-1 and IEC 61850-7-2 (see additional tissue fir 7-2).

There is also a need for a definition of the term "system" in 7-2.

Discussion Created Status
The only 'standardized' LD name is LD0, and no specific name is forbidden. Therefore there is no need to explicitely 'allow' names like LD01, LD02 etc. As even LD0 was made 'optional', I expect that there is the intention, NOT to standardize LD name semantics at all, however allow all names within the general naming syntax. 12 Apr 07 Not Applicable
