309   Interval Meter - MITV

Created: 11 Apr 2006

Status: Not Applicable

Part: Part 7-4 (2003)

Category: Issue for edition 2 of this part

An interval meter (e.g. MITV as drafted in 61850-420 by WG17) needs to be developed, in coordination with TC13 and their standard based on ANSI C12.19. An initial attempt at a UCA standard was developed by Marty Burns in an ASHRAE report 1011-RP. Interval meters (energy and demand for every period, e.g. every 15 minutes, 7-days a week) are needed for Time-of-Use and Real-Time Pricing for DER and for customers.

The draft LN MITV in 61850-420 should be used as a base, with input and comments by TC13 and metering experts.

To be handled at the next WG meeting in Arhem. 17 Aug 06 Future Improvement
To check if this LN is of general interest as claimed in the CDV of IEC 61850-420 and if its purpose can maybe covered by a set of existing LNs like MSTA, the source documents (especially the ASHRAE report) has to be analyzed. This issue is also important in the context of harmonization (see tissue 304). 17 Aug 06 Discussion (red)
