Clause: 6.2.5.7.1

Paragraph:

Category: Issue for edition 2 of this part

Issue

cAss4 is related to MMS pdu size. This is the only reference to MMS in IEC 61850-10

The definition of IEC 61850-10 is related to abstract test cases.

Proposal

This test case should be included in detailed test procedures for MMS ,but it should be removed from the list of abstract test cases inside of IEC 61850-10 or at least rephrased in a way that it does not mention MMS.

Discussion Created Status
IEC 61850-10 is based on abstract test cases that could be applied to any mapping of IEC 61850-7-2 (not only 8.1 and MMS).

I recommend to edti cAss4 as:

"Verify that DUT can handle TPAA associations with servers with different limitations in the PDU size according to SCSM and PIXIT"

I disagree. Due to the fact that clients shall be able to handle server IEDs with small and with large MMS PDU size we need the test. For sure all the association tests will also touch the ACSE layer and below they are necessary to test the basic association capabilities of a client. Without an association there is no MMS communication. 22 Mar 16 Discussion (red)
