Clause: 16.2.3

Paragraph:

Category: Issue for edition 2 of this part

Issue

The sentence "A value that has been successfully written shall be non-volatile as part of the setting group set" has nothing to do with IEC 61850-7-2 clause 16.3.4.1: “Setting new value shall become effective only after the client has confirmed the value by issuing the service ConfirmEditSGValues”.

See also Figure 22 in IEC 61850-7-2, where it is clearly depicted that SetEditSGValue is acting over the edition buffer, that will update the SG table with the ConfirmEditsGvalues service.

Proposal

The proposal consists of removing the sentence A value that has been successfully written shall be non-volatile as part of the setting group set" from 8.1 (this is 7.2 (application) specific).

Discussion Created Status

7-2 states already:
Setting new value shall become effective only after the client has confirmed the value by issuing the service ConfirmEditSGValues.

Therefore, there is no need for an additional statement in 8-1
Proposal: remove the sentence:
A value that has been successfully written shall be non-volatile as part of the setting group set.
