Clause: 5.3.5

Paragraph:

Category: No impact on this part

Issue

In the NOTE it is described the use of "Fer" (future "FerCh") for detecting wrong connection of cables to ports, based on the following statement: in PRP any message received for a wrong channel is also forwarded to the application. That's not true for 62439-3 Edition 2. Frames received in wrong LAN should be treated as normal frames and duplicates should be discarded.

Proposal

Remove this statement from the NOTE of LCCH node.

The note is still correct. According to an expert, IEC 62439-3 clause 4.1.10.2.4 describes, that "all messages with a 'wrong' channel identification are forwarded to the application, due to the reason that it may come from a SAN which happens to contain some data similar to the PRP trailer".
So no change of the note is necessary.
