Clause: 7

Paragraph: first dot point

Category: No impact on this part

Issue

The clause says:
"The IED name shall be TEMPLATE."

Does the word TEMPLATE in an ICD file have to be all capitals for the ICD to be compliant to the Standard or is it OK to use lower case or first letter capitals followed by lower case?

Proposal

If must be all caps then add after the word "(must be all capitals)"

If not essential then add "(upper and/or lower case)"

XML per se is case sensitive, and also all IED names are case sensitive. Therefore it should be clear, that also the predefined name TEMPLATE for an IED template is case sensitive, and therefore must be written with all capital letters. Why else would it be written this way in the standard? 22 Oct 12 Discussion (red)
