Clause: 14.2.4

Paragraph: 14.2.4.1

Category: Issue for edition 2 of this part

Issue

URCB is functional definded in 14.2.1: "URCB - internal events (...) issue immediate sending of reports on a 'best efforts" basis...".

This means, no buffer is used. But table 25 includes BufTm with value range 0 .. MAX and the sentence below table 25 reads "Except ... all other attributes (means also BufTm) shall be as defined for BRCB in 14.2.2. This would mean that there is no difference between BRCB and URCB regarding BufTm at all and URCB has a buffer!

Proposal

Either BufTm must be removed or this attribute has a not described function or purpose. Please clarify this.

Buffered and unbuffered reporting both have a report buffer, within which the report is collected. This is where bufTim refers to - the time span during which further events ar collected for the report message. Buffered reporting additionally has another buffer to keep all sent reports in case the sending was lost for the receiver. This has nothing to do with bufTim. 04 Aug 06 Not Applicable
