Category: Issue for edition 2 of this part

Issue

For the proper definition of some frequency functions can be necessary to define settings based on number of cycles (fully independent of the system frequency).

Proposal

Add a new value (78) in Table A.4 to represet:

78
QUANTITY: Number of cycles
UNIT NAME: Cycle (Cyc)
SYMBOL: cyc

If the number of cycle is used as a setting, a similar data is already available with e.g. the LN MHAI from 7-4: the data NumCyc, which is of the CDC ING (Integer Setting). Integer settings do not have units; the unit is implicitly defined here by the semantic of the data. Such a setting can be used for other logical nodes as well. 19 Apr 07 Ballot Period
The proposal needs more clarification - shall that be a number of cycles independnt from the time base? What is a cycle in that case? If it is related to the time base, why can not Hz be used? 15 Apr 07 Discussion (red)
