Paragraph:

Category: Issue may impact interoperability of implementations of Edition 2

Issue

The data object PFSign in MMXU is an enumeration to set the used convention for the power factor sign. In the inverter industry the PFSign will have another value: exitation (underexited/overexited).
This value will be used in IEC 61850-90-7.

Proposal

Add the enum value for PFSign: 3 - Exitation (Overexited for the quadrant 1 and 2 , underexited for the quadrant 3 and 4). Change the semantic description accordingly.

The provided picture (PFsign_convention.pdf) will be replaced by the new pictures "Visio-IEC61850_EEI_sign_convention_20120314_hd.pdf" and the "Visio-IEC61850_IEC_sign_convention_20120403.pdf". 16 Apr 12 Discussion (red)
WG17 propose the attached figures for PFSign convention.

The values for PFSign should be:
<EnumType id="PFSign">
<EnumVal ord="1">IEC</EnumVal>
<EnumVal ord="2">EEI</EnumVal>
</EnumType>

The proposal to extend the enum list by adding "3-Excitation" should be rejected according with IEC 61850-90-7 (Inverter model). Excitation will be managed by seperate data objects (FPFW.PFExtStr/FPFW.PFExtStop - excitation of start/stop point).
20 Mar 12 Discussion (red)
The right word for the enum is: Excitation 14 Nov 11 Discussion (red)
