Issue

The standard has been supporting the dimensionless quantity "ppm".

Proposal

Follow the modern practice of using a multiplier such as "mu" for 10 to the minus 6th power, then in the unit of measure field, create "L/L" and "g/g" to show that the measurement was obtained on a volumetric or a mass ratio basis.

Proposal to reject the comment 18 Sep 12 Ballot Period
It seems reasonable to introduce L/L for volumetric and g/g for mass ratios. On the other hand, this should be clear from the definition of the data object to which the unit belongs. Currently we have no 'unspecific' data objects for ratios. Therefore suggest to reject the proposal. 01 Mar 12 Discussion (red)
