Issue

Units of measure should not have multipliers built into them. There is a separate field for the multiplier. The offending UOMs are: "dB", "dBm", "kg", and "kg2".

Proposal

Use units of measure "B", "Bm", "g", and "g2".
Use multipliers "d" and "k" as needed.
This is more in keeping with the design of the standard.

ok - so conclusion is - TISSUE not accepted - no change 13 Nov 11 Ballot Period
there is here definitly a backward compatibility issue. we can not change an existing unit to another semantic. 13 Oct 11 Discussion (red)
in principle, from the viewpoint of the philosophy of the standard, I agree with the proposal. But as far as I understand, the SI unit for mass is kg and not g. Is that an issue or can we chane to g?

Are there any issues with backwards compatibility?
