Clause: 6.2.4.11.2

Paragraph: RptN6

Category: Issue for edition 2 of this part

Issue

In RptN6 test one can read: "Verify that by any client only RptEna can be set to FALSE, and no other attribute can be written (IEC 61850-7-2 Subclause 14.2.4.5)."

If one goes to that subclause will find the following text: "The attribute Resv (if set to TRUE) shall indicate that the URCB is currently exclusively reserved for the client that has set the value to TRUE. Other clients shall not be allowed to set any
attribute of that URCB."

It makes more sense that an URCB doesn't allow changes to all of its attributes, except those which come from the reserved client.

Proposal

Replace the referred above sentence of RptN6 test with: "Verify that none of the attributes can be written by the other clients (than the reserved).

Discussion Created Status
The proposed new test is a 'wrong' test. Resv is from server point of view only an indication to clients that the URCB is reserved. The clients have to consider this and coordinate on this, and it is not the task of the server to supervise this. 26 Mar 08 Not Applicable
