Clause: Annexe A

Paragraph: S17

Category: Issue for edition 2 of this part

Issue

According S17, the service SetDataValue is mandatory, when Substitution is supported. Does this mean, that it is notz possible, that only a substitution through a local HMI is supported?

Proposal

Clarify. It should be possible to support the substitution model (i.e. to flag data as "substituted", but do the substitution only local in the server and not supporting remote substitution service.

Discussion Created Status
Changes are usualy accomplished by services. This is what the ACSI defines.

A local operator may change a value by local means, e.g., set the values for substitution. This local operation is outside the scope of the standard.

Changed status to blue.

I aggree. Local substitution does not necesarely uses the SetDataValue to perform subsitution. However for remote substitution (the only substitution defined by 7-2), the SetDataValue service is required. 05 Mar 07 Discussion (red)
