Issue

It is useful to delete old entries from the Logbuffer. E.g. while coommissioning there are many entries which are not interesting in normal operation. Therefore it is needed to purge the buffer.

Proposal

Similar to PurgeBuf in BufferedReporting I propose an attribute PurgeLogBuf.

A log is in principal always full (except at startup), and this has to be handled anyhow, so there is no need to empty it to make 'space' free. The filtering can be handled by just querying the wanted time span, and therewith bypassing of non-desired entries.

I agree with Herb. A log is in principal always full (except at startup), and this has to be handled anyhow, so there is no need to empty it to make 'space' free. The filtering can be handled by just querying the wanted time span, as indicated by Herb. 02 Nov 06 Discussion (red)
It does not appear that a PurgeLog is needed in order to bypass non-desired entries. Since QueryLogByTime allows a specification of time range, this allows the bypassing of non-desired entries.

Suggest turning Blue...
