1860   Association between Services elements 61850-6 and Abstract services 61850-7-2

Paragraph: Table 11

Issue

Table 11 of 61850-6 ed. 2.1 doesn't give exhaustive description of associations between Service SCL elements (<ClientServices>, <DynAssociation> and so on) and Abstract services (GetServerDirectory, Associate, Abort and so on).

1. Which SCL element we should use to indicate that IED (server) could implement these abstract services: GetAllDataValues, GetDataValues, SetDataValues, GetEditSGValue? <ReadWrite> SCL element?

2. Is it correct to use <ReadWrite> SCL element to indicate that IED (server) could implement abstract services QueryLogByTime, QueryLogAfter, GetLogStatusValues?

3. What for we should use <GSEDir> SCL element? To indicate that IED (server) could implement these abstract services: GetGoReference, GetGOOSEElementNumber?

4. If question #3 is true: we have similar abstract services for SMV (GetMsvReference, GetMSVElementNumber) but why we haven't got similar SCL element (<SMVDir>)?

5. Table 11 shows that <ReadWrite> SCL element is used to indicate that IED (server) could implement abstract service Operate.
Does it mean that the <ReadWrite> SCL element indicate that other abstract services of control model (Select, SelectWithValue, Cancel, CommandTermination) are implemented by the IED? (TimeActivatedOperate is associated with <TimerActivatedControl> SCL element).

Proposal

Please, answer the questions and give more detailed descriptions for items of Table 11 in 61850-6 ed. 2.1.

1. Which SCL element we should use to indicate that IED (server) could implement these abstract services: GetAllDataValues, GetDataValues, SetDataValues, GetEditSGValue? <ReadWrite> SCL element?
-> Yes this is the ReadWrite declaration which indicates the support of GetValue/SetValue services

2. Is it correct to use <ReadWrite> SCL element to indicate that IED (server) could implement abstract services QueryLogByTime, QueryLogAfter, GetLogStatusValues?
-> No the services related to Logs are all mandatory in 7-2. As soon as you are supporting the Log, you have to support all services. No need to have a specific declaration in SCL

3. What for we should use <GSEDir> SCL element? To indicate that IED (server) could implement these abstract services: GetGoReference, GetGOOSEElementNumber?
-> this has to be clarified in ed3 as proposed in tissue 1876

4. If question #3 is true: we have similar abstract services for SMV (GetMsvReference, GetMSVElementNumber) but why we haven't got similar SCL element (<SMVDir>)?
-> see previous answer

-> ReadWrite declaration in SCL indicates that controls can be operated by another device. How the operation can be done with wchich service defined in 7-2 is declare by the DA ctlModel in each control. If a control support ctlModel SBO, then it is required to support the Select service. No need to add additional declaration in SCL which may lead to incoherency in the declaration

Only GSEDir need to be clarified which will be in edition 3 and covered by tissue 1876.
