Clause: 5.14

Paragraph: 5.14.3

Category: Issue for edition 3 of this part

Issue

Breaker usually have 2 or 3 coils: 1 for closing, 1 or 2 for opening. Coil circuits powered from different sources and protected by different fuses or automatic breakers: usually circuit 1 - close and first open, circuit 2 - second (backup) open. Thus increases reliability.
In SCBR presented only 1 DO ColOpn and ColA and no any settings of coils.

Proposal

Need more DOs for coils supervision (all optional):
ColOpn1 SPS
ColOpn2 SPS
ColOpn3 SPS
ColAlm1 SPS
ColAlm2 SPS
ColAlm3 SPS
ColNomA ASG (nominal coil current, A)
ColOpTmms ING (time delay to trip coil, ms)

Discussion Created Status
Change to status on hold, because it will be implemented in the next version/edition of this part. 16 Jul 15 Future Improvement
Since it is proposed to handle this tissue through IEC 61850-90-3, it will have an impact on part 7-4 ed.3.
The topic could also be discussed in TR IEC 61850-7-500.

I think this should be handled through IEC 61850-90-3. But I agree that we Need more than one coil supervision unless we declare the SCBR to belong to one coil only. 27 Apr 15 Discussion (red)
