Category: Issue for edition 2 of this part

Issue

Table 109 (MMS InitiateRequest general parameters) specifies that localDetailCalled/localDetailCalling should be present in the InitiateRequest.

However, neither Part 8-1 nor ISO 9506 specify the semantics of localDetailCalling/-Called.

In ISO 9506-2, clause 25.3.1, it is specified that "The implementor shall state the detail used within both the Local Detail
Calling and Local Detail Called parameters used in the Initiate service, if they are provided as part of an
implementation. The semantics of any values used shall be provided."

Proposal

8-1 should specify that localDetailCalling is used to negotiate the maximum supported MMSPDU size in bytes.
