Category: Issue for edition 2 of this part

Issue

Proposal is to add to LTIM a new optional DO TmSet (TSG) for setting date and time "manually". This is very useful when no time master exists (or lost).

Proposal

Add LTIM.TmSet (TSG).

I support the opinion to not extent LTIM for manually setting of the time. 09 May 14 Discussion (red)
Setting of time can not be a setting, as the clock changes the time value. The easiest way to set the time is to temporarily provide a time master. The time is set, and after removal of the time master the time stamp is shown with flag 'time not synchronized', so that the accuracy of any resulting event time stamp is also visible. 08 May 14 Discussion (red)
Setting the time manually is only useful in the lab, it cannot be used for timestamping in the field since this is not a global time. It can be dangerous if not identified as "manual". 07 May 14 Triage
